Spring is slowly arriving in the Black Forest. Skiable conditions can only be found above 1,100 meters above sea level. In the Feldberg region, however, there is still plenty of snow, so that longer tours are still possible without a major warm spell. lifts are still open on the Feldberg until April 8th.
Snow quality
With good radiation last night, I found top firn snow on the Herzogenhorn today. I don't know whether the shady gullies in the Zastler were also good, but I'm afraid it was pretty icy there.
Risks
Transillumination was clearly noticeable in the course of the afternoon. Otherwise the danger of Wechtenbruch, although the ones on the Herzogenhorn looked good.
Overall impression
Today on the mountain with a jacket, after my after-work tour unfortunately had to be canceled this week
