On the Kandel 40cm of fresh, wet snow at the bottom - a solid basis for the first tours in the Black Forest...

Above 1000m there was a lot of powder which made for great conditions on the piste. Next to the piste you sink in about 10 cm and underneath there is a soft, compact base that prevents ground contact perfectly. 1000m below there were unfortunately one or two drizzle showers today
Risks
I was only on the flat or in the forest, but I could imagine that the usual suspected cornice slopes are already loaded.
Overall impression
Super start to the season in the Black Forest. Unfortunately, I was only able to go floodlight skiing on the Kandel due to time constraints. Maybe I'll manage a little ski tour tomorrow
