Start at about 800 meters. The parking lot at the start had not yet been cleared and was therefore popular for the popular Hinterwälder Car-Spinning on Ice or whatever you want to call it. However, there was about 10-15 cm of snow at the start. Above 1000 meters there wasn't much more.

Snow quality

4 von 5 Sterne

The snow was nice and cold yesterday and has barely warmed up during the course of the day today. So it's still nice and light and fluffy.

Risks

Avalanches are actually impossible due to the current situation. Due to the thin snow cover, the danger comes from stones, branches or common frozen molehills.

Overall impression

Unfortunately I only had time to go out in the evening, but it was still nice to finally be back on skis.
But with the best will in the world I can't understand my colleague's 4 stars.
Sure, it's the first day of the season. Yes, the snow is light, powdery and it looks like winter.
Nevertheless, the fresh snow has fallen on cold grass and it's all gone with a wipe. First day or not, I can't possibly give it more than two stars.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
