Exposition

North North-Eas

Snow condition

25 cm fresh snow
Descent to valley (to 900 m)

The snow situation is already quite good, there was no ground contact, but of course the uneven ground has not yet been leveled. Depending on the altitude and wind influence, there is approx. 5 - 25 cm of fresh snow.

Powder snow
Wind drifted snow

Powdery, not mega loose but nice to ride. The surface was a bit brittle in places.

Wind drifted snow

North-Eas

Intensity: low

Altitude: 1100 m – 1300 m

Risks

Cracking (When entering the snow cover)
North North-West

Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)

Cracking when entering the (small) snow packs. I also picked up two on the second descent, but they weren't big enough to be dangerous.

Overall impression

Saw Tobi's report, thought I'd give a little update on the Baldenweger. It's winter in the Black Forest and the snow is nice to ride in, it'll be worth it tomorrow for sure.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
