With the snow conditions, a start with skis is currently possible from around 1000HM. That's almost better than the whole of last winter ... All in all a good basis, but there are still a lot of stones, roots and bushes sticking out, so we need at least another 30-50cm for a good Black Forest winter.

The cold temperatures after Sunday and the few inches of fresh snow far exceeded my expectations. Fine, dry snow and the few centimetres of unbound snow make the Brettl fun what we want it to be.

Risks

Only from the Baldenweger Buck webcam (tip for all those who don't know it yet: http://www.ettenheim-wetter.de/feldberg-cam.php) you can see slight cornices above the Zastler and therefore a bit of drift snow. Otherwise I wouldn't say it's really there yet, but I haven't been on the corresponding slopes in the Black Forest yet.

Second day on skis this winter, after tearing a ligament shortly before the abrupt end of skiing last winter, but very satisfied :) A little late today, but experienced a wonderful sunset on the Feldberg.
