Snow conditions are pretty poor for Christmas, starting from Rinken with a few meters of carry or Feldbergpass is possible, otherwise definitely too little snow. When skiing, you also have to head for the areas that have been blown in or where the wind hasn't reached in order to avoid contact with stones, alternatively look for meadow slopes :) There is just enough snow to ski down Immisberg, Zastler or Baldenweger. Unfortunately, the warmth before Christmas has taken quite a lot of base again, for proper trips there should be another 1/2 meter and especially further down (as a base).
Snow quality
Thin layer of powder on otherwise hard old snow cover, alternatively new drift snow is pleasant to ski.
Risks
After midday, the wind blew the snow into the slopes on the Zastler and Baldenweger, the cornices are already quite large for the current snow conditions and a few (older) breaks could be identified.
Overall impression
Nice to have been out in the fresh air between meals. The outlook doesn't promise much improvement for tours in the Black Forest at the moment.
