Belchen "auf und ab"
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Since yesterday there has been a few centimeters of fresh powder on the Belchen. The base wasn't really good, so there was always contact with undergrowth on the ascent (east). On the summit, the wind removed the snow, leaving only a relatively hard layer of snow. Let's see what the rest of the day brings, after all the Heidstein lift opens tomorrow, which is something of a rarity these days.
Snow quality
The descent was quite nice in the upper section (below the mountain station) as the snow was still quite fluffy. All in all, I could make out a good 30cm of fresh snow up to the mountain station, but there was considerably less at the top towards the summit.
Risks
Was not taken into account due to the departure variant.
Overall impression
For a short trip (a few hours) it was well worth it.
