The snow conditions in the Black Forest are still good for the end of December, tours in the high altitudes are generally possible without any problems. The wind of the last few days has exposed one or two open areas and ridges and these are now only just overlapping.
Snow quality
Beautiful fresh snow cover of around 15-20cm, but partly already marked by the wind.
Risks
The wind has brought a lot of snow, so be careful on the known slopes. With the heavy rain, it probably won't get any better.
Overall impression
Nice tours on the Stollenbach before the big storm. Unfortunately I misjudged the morning and evening work today, would have been even better this morning, even less wind and sunshine.
All in all, a nice end to the year in the Black Forest for me.
