Snow condition

From Menzenschwand onwards, beautiful, thick, closed snow cover. Even in the forest everything seems rideable (more on this in the overall impression).

Snow quality

Really nice in the top 1100-1300 ranges. Then quickly cardboardy and heavy. At the bottom it is challenging to make good progress on the meadow.

Risks

Nothing relevant on the route, therefore no observation.

Very nice winter tour in good company to the Spießhorn. Ski slope very rutted. In the steep slope, a classic mogul slope makes its way into the structure. It's actually technically quite funny.

A word about nature conservation: I've certainly skied around in the forest before. Today, too, we were looking for 3 meters of untracked trail on the way to the ski slope, of course. But the north side of the Spießhorn is a nature reserve. Quite a lot of people ski around there as a matter of course. I once asked two guys where the nature reserve was. Answer: "Yes, it's here now, over there, about 20m further on, that's where it starts, you shouldn't drive there anymore." Haha... unfortunately, they were also pointing in the wrong direction. I think that if we want to get through the season well in this lift- and snow-free winter, we should think in a more multi-dimensional way and perhaps stay on the slopes...
Addendum to "Zastler" yesterday: there were also two tracks behind the barrier below Zastler Hütte...
