Dolce Vita - Tour in Oberwald
Snow condition

Snow condition
There is much less snow at the top than at the bottom. Otherwise, there is up to 1m of early winter snow on the roofs here in Goms. With a strong foehn storm, it pulls all the snow away above the tree line and drives it into the hollows.
Snow quality
Below, where there is no wind, there is a nice powdery 20 cm of snow in the forest. Above the trees it's windswept and blown down to icy. Expo Southwest is capped early and heavy. The sun is shining and even a day before March it's already got plenty of power. North is much fluffier.
Risks
It has a 2 according to slf despite wind influence and fresh snow 2 days ago. But that also matches our observations in the terrain. Nothing has slid. Wind loads are clearly visible in south-westerly winds. No spontaneous cracks or slopes.
Overall impression
Absolutely beautiful panorama back here on the Furka Pass with yes - strong wind, but also strong sun. Once again, the spring ski touring season has started far too early... There's not much to be had above the trees, so we find a wonderful hut with coffee schnapps and nut croissants. Wonderful, dolce vita!
Looking into the crystal ball - with the forecast of snowflakes from next week, Wald and Expo Nord are certainly good, because Base has it!
