Zermatt off the beaten Track

Overall impression
Snow condition
Snow is old, but reaches all the way down to the village at 1600m. But winter wonderland is different.
Snow quality
Snow quality 6 days after snowfall is therefore no longer top notch. If you find wind-blown hollows above 2500, then it's still dusty! Couloirs are rideable, but very hard depending on the exposure.
Risks
The SLF officially issues a 2. We observe many avalanches triggered by individual skiers, especially on the north and west sides. A large slab is visible in the second photo. Last Wednesday, 3 people were buried here on the north-facing slope near Hohtälli. On the south and southeast slopes, more and more wet snow avalanches can be observed below 2600.
Overall impression
In Zermatt, you can actually still find some pretty good runs away from the crowds. Especially the afternoon with evening light in west-facing hollows leads to some cheers on a day with rather low expectations for freeriding. Pictures to follow
