Exposition
Snow condition
Skiing down into the valley is completely out of the question. However, the shady cirques at around 2000m were so snow-covered that it was even possible to ski in a reasonably sporty manner.
Snow quality
Surprisingly good! Hard to describe what it was. It was soft, probably without having frozen through at night. Think of firn that was a bit too soft.
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
Slippery and wet snow. The wind was there, but nothing that could have carried it - at least below 2500m.
Overall impression
Unexpectedly beautiful day of skiing with sunshine and pleasantly soft snow. We even went up twice. I couldn't have imagined that beforehand.
