Variations of snow cover

Above the tree line, the wind has done a great job and the snow conditions are significantly worse than below. However, for us skiers who are not spoiled by the north-east Alps, it was still a nice experience to see that there was enough snow to ski down without hesitation...

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne
Hard, pressed snow
Breakable crust
Powder snow
Wind drifted snow

Today we were rewarded with a wild mixture of set powder, pressed snow and crushed harsh snow.

Wind drifted snow

North North-Eas East West North-West

Intensity: medium

Above: 2000 m

Risks

Cracking (When entering the snow cover)
Woom- or hissing noise

Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)

There is also drift snow on the south side. And when you are greeted by a groomed hollow with a whump, you quickly realize that the current warnings are not just prophecies of doom!

Overall impression

Worse

After the old Scooter hit "heikel, heikel" (tricky, tricky) was blaring out of all the channels, I was twice as safe today. On the one hand, in the only exposure where the evil A... is not up to mischief, but also on slopes that hardly allow avalanches due to their steepness.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
