Snow quality
A little blown away at the top, top powder in the middle and unfortunately a little heavy at the bottom - but still fun!
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: strong
Above: 2100 m
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
As already noted yesterday, the wind has blown some drift snow into north and east-facing slopes. Otherwise, watch out for daytime warming, especially on south-facing slopes.
Overall impression
We hiked up the Pic de la Sal in the Vall de Sorteny, mainly on south-facing slopes. We deliberately avoided the northern slopes, although flatter terrain would probably work. It was a great tour with fresh snow and fantastic scenery, only a bit more visibility at the summit would have been nice :)
