Snow report Valle D'Aosta, 02/02/2014
Coumayeur - ganz nett zum cruisen, zum freeriden hat die Sicht heute nicht mitgespielt

Overall impression
Snow condition
For the most part really good. However, further up (> 2400 m) there is very little snow for the very rocky alpine terrain there.
Snow quality
It's no longer fine powder. But not really bad snow for skiing either, neither crusty nor too damp or even wet. Unfortunately, almost everything in the ski area is covered in snow. The snow quality is probably much better on the 'back side' towards Val Veny, but unfortunately I couldn't test it with the mixed visibility.
Risks
According to the LLB a 3. A few small chutes have gone down in steep gullies over the last 1.2 days, otherwise the snowpack didn't seem to be particularly unstable. Further away in rarely traveled terrain, it probably looks different at the moment. And on the south side of Mont Blanc there have also been the odd ice/snow/slab avalanche, possibly due to the (slight) warming.
Overall impression
Not great for freeriding, as the hoped-for break in the cloud cover was unfortunately only noticeable on the 'wrong' side of the valley. So it was more like a few nice hours on the slopes with constant hopeful glances upwards.
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
