Courmayeur - Choke alarm! Faceshots en masse, neben und auf der Piste

Snow condition
Now there's really good snow, even in the village in the valley (1200 m) it's often over 1 m. I can't say what it looks like far above the tree line (> 2200 m) because everything was closed and visibility didn't allow an assessment of the situation. Ground contact is probably a foreign word at the moment, unless you really want it.
Snow quality
Top. It could hardly be better. Overnight there was already 35 cm of the finest fresh snow in the parking lot in the village, and during the day there was probably another 20 cm. A little more in the ski area. The snow fell practically without wind up to 2200 m (there was no snow higher up, no matter today). At the beginning there were face shots on the snow-covered piste (practically all the photos are of 'piste skiers'), then next to it in the forest. You had to stop every now and then to catch your breath while swallowing snow, and not (only) because you didn't have enough strength.
Risks
Up to 2200 m, mostly forest, not much has slid, except for small, very steep slopes or almost rock faces. According to the LLB, a 3. With the (sometimes surprisingly abundant) amounts of fresh snow, the level could also be raised. I couldn't estimate what it would look like above 2200.
Overall impression
Huge day. Even though not all the lifts were open and there were still some freeriders out and about who had skied most of it by 13 h, I'll give it 5 stars because I haven't skied in snow this deep for ages (unfortunately the photos don't show how deep it really was in the forest next to the piste). Even the somewhat surprised piste skiers seemed to be having fun. If the weather is good tomorrow, it could be a fantastic, if not entirely safe, powder day anywhere in the Aosta Valley.
