Snow report Vaud and Fribourg Alps, 02/27/2015
Charmey - cozy and beautiful.

Snow condition
Good base in the upper slopes is sufficient to ski everywhere, approx. 15-20 cm of fresh snow. Much less on the south-facing slopes, the cow ribs are slowly coming through again.
Snow quality
Very fluffy in the morning on a hard surface. Much heavier and quite sticky in the afternoon due to the strong warming. Gets very hard very quickly. On south-facing slopes, one or two cow pats come out and color the snow. Don`t eat brown snow.
Risks
Nothing seen, but that doesn't mean it's non-existent. Locals report layers of ball bearings and the resulting avalanches on Schwarzsee and dangerous, unstable slopes further towards the Bernese Oberland. Please take care.
Overall impression
Nice, powder in small areas is always fun and still has most of that winter magic effect. At the bottom, it just wears off very quickly.
