Certainly above average for the time of year. On the south side it is skiable from about 1500m. On the north side it goes down into the valley.
Snow quality
Well - classic spring conditions: Slush - a little powder - wet snow . Little to nothing off-piste. If you do, you should go high up and on the snow side. All this on a rather hard old snow base. (Almost) all pistes still open.
Risks
No observations except numerous fish mouths in all conditions from NE to S to NW. This severely restricts the variant area.
Overall impression
Super cozy and stress-free days in Chatel, no powder, but still fun conditions - thanks to super location, super crew and delicious food.
