Birehubel - GantrischFeierabend first ascent north
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
10cm at the lower Gurniglhütte parking lot. Descent possible to the boot at 1510m. In the northern forest of the Grunigel it also goes down much further and the whole area of the Gantrisch looks good for May. Maybe at least 50cm in the north. I'm sure there's still some way to go in the next week or two.
Snow quality
It was raining before I set off. The whole mess was a bit tough, sometimes lazy. When I went down at 8pm it started to snow. I think it's very good early in the morning.
Risks
On the Birehubel itself there was probably still rarely an avalanche danger, which I'm sure someone can prove. On the northern slopes of Bürgle and Gantrisch you can see wet snow slides of small and medium size, probably due to the rain and the warming in the afternoon.
Overall impression
Out, up and breathe deeply to clear the pipe. It's nice for that and it's very suitable for that.
