Firn flight to the Lenker Wildhorn

Snow condition
So neither a downhill run nor a descent to the boot is currently possible. From the car, ski tourers have to climb up to ~1800m on foot. Then scramble up to approx. 2200 through huge avalanche cones.
Snow quality
After the clear night on Saturday, there was fine firn on the glacier at around 9:30 and then only fine, sticky rotten snow in the valley of death.
Risks
The locals are talking about a 0. I think that's a bit too relaxed; I would consider the powerful avalanche tracks on the steeper north-facing slopes and the volleyball court-sized clods of snow coming loose on the granular layers to be a real risk. However, the warming will ensure that this last danger is really only of very short duration. After that, the probability of wet snow slides is certainly still very critical up to high altitudes in steep mountain areas.
Overall impression
I enjoyed my first screwlift flight in mid-May with a wonderful panoramic view from Monte BIanco to Säntis. As ablifting is not an alternative anyway, I slid down to the barbecue area over the glacier.
