At first nothing green and looks like an autumn storm. And suddenly, at 1152 m, everything is white with a 20 cm blanket of snow. Above that it quickly becomes more. I made it up to 1700 and it was really good in the forest. Maybe 70-100cm

Downwind, there are lots of small, partly intact snowcaps that are great to ride untracked. In LUV and on the ridge it was already very compact so that you could climb up well but not ski so hard on it. Below 1300 it was rather difficult.

Risks

I had suspected it, the strong wind >130km/h was measured in the region, but in open terrain it is quite a lot of tiling. I was warned by the lift in the parking lot and promised him that I wouldn't go into the open terrain. As soon as I saw what he meant in the forest, I didn't go any further (photo). From 1800 there are the small wind boards and they are very energetic due to the heavy snow. They are certainly very dangerous in open terrain if they are significantly larger.

After all, 5-8 powder turns and then to the best cheese dairy there is and went shopping for Christmas presents. Exciting weather, such a storm. Powder, rain, sun, powder. That's how I imagine Fiordland in the far north. Storm and powder at the top and a muddy MTB battle in between. With today's waves, you could have gone surfing on the lake afterwards.
