There was very little snow before the snowfall, and virtually nothing below 2000m. As a result, you often get through to the base. But with a little caution, you can even make it down to the valley. There is about 20cm of fresh snow in the valley and 50cm from 2000m onwards on a very variable, thin base.

That was really good. Plenty and nice and fluffy. Above the tree line, the wind must have been working hard and there were also drifts in the valley.

Risks

A sharp three-pointer and little visibility = playing in the forest. With the poor surface, things are likely to remain exciting over the next few weeks, especially on the north side (i.e. where there was already some snow).

This snowfall was sorely needed and with 50cm of fresh snow, Verbier got away relatively well, so there is now a base. A good first powder day, even if it comes a little late...

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
