Snow condition
In view of the limited lift operation, only altitudes between 1400 and 2300 m could be skied. Strong winds at altitude. The (north) and especially west-facing ridges further up (Mont Rouge and Co) seemed to be very blown off. Otherwise, a few very fat powder turns could already be skied off-piste above 2000 meters, below which the base is still a little lacking.
Snow quality
Fresh snow on top so far, about 20-25 cm on soft ground. Very nice! Locally even more, because as I said it was blowing hard. In Nendaz at the bottom about 15-20 cm of rather heavy fresh snow on little to no base. At about 1800 m it's practically impossible to go off-piste!
Risks
Still delicate! Small-scale cracks have been seen. They were already busy blasting. Crazze Big Mountain Lines should definitely wait a bit longer in my opinion! There are probably a lot of weak layers in the snowpack structure in Valais this year.
Overall impression
It's actually quite nice now! Light snowfall all day and limited visibility, but there were some nice treeruns and nice fluffy powder on top today!
