Winter this funny white thingy,

Snow condition
I don't think it's really terrible. You don't necessarily encounter more stones than usual, but there are significantly fewer overall, and the one or other stream bed, as well as the one or other classic variant, is blown out. The col des mines, for example, is littered with tufts of grass in places.
Snow quality
Noah, the rain that turned into a heavy snowfall made the crust or whatever was under there disappear very well. The 20-25 cm of fresh snow that fell in a very short time in the morning did very well. The drifting snow, some of which had been transported massively, is somewhat heavier. But where it fell, protected from the wind, it looked really nice.
Risks
The fact that there wasn't much snow overall made our decision easier. Under the rock pools in the northern expedition, it is still blowing in the traverses and in places where it has remained cold and has been blown in, it is coming off in planks. The strong wind has transported huge packages. As soon as you can see something again and you can get out into open terrain, I would be very careful on the less frequented slopes without the humpback forest.
Overall impression
That weird white stuff that stings your face - is that the snow everyone's always talking about? Honestly, a wind chill that feels like -95 degrees is a real challenge. But when you're rewarded with a small hole in the sun and can enjoy the tourist slopes with 35-40cm of coke blown in, you forget all the pain. A great real winter day with one or two powder runs!
