Snow condition
Things have changed for the better here in the last two weeks. Of course, the wind influence of the previous winter is noticeable in the alpine terrain, but a little deeper in the lee there is now a decent snow cover.
Snow quality
From Saturday to Sunday there was another 10 to 15 cm of fluffy fresh snow. Nothing great as such, but enough to make it a lot of fun on the already set base from Friday. Everything on the north side was very good, on the south side the sun had already worked a bit on the base and in the course of the day also on the fresh snow. The top ~200m were a bit wind-affected, hence 4*.
Risks
At higher altitudes, there were a few drift snow packs to report, which we treated rather conservatively. Overall, the warming of the last week has certainly done the snowpack some good. In steep, little-traveled north-facing slopes, especially in the alpine terrain, there is unfortunately still a weak layer from early winter lurking. I would still be a little cautious here. The daily warming also plays a role in the meantime.
Overall impression
Unexpectedly good snow and, apart from the summit area, few tracks on the descent. Nice corners can also be found on fashionable tours. One of the better days of the season.
