Big ski touring day in Nax
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Slightly above average. There's nothing in the Rhone valley up to 1000m, but from 1500m it's good. Ridges and crests blown off as so often. However, the last few small snowfalls fell without much wind influence.
Snow quality
20cm 1a of dry powder, with a clean base underneath. Even the rocky north side of Mt. Noble was skied without any rock contact.
Risks
Caution is advised. Steeper terrain on the north side is particularly tricky.
Overall impression
There were quite a lot of tourers for the small area. But everything was very relaxed. The conditions are now really good.
