Rather at the lower limit of the three stars. The wind had removed a lot of snow and generally not too much snow for the time of year. We came to the hut via the Valpellin valley and there we only just made it up to 1700m to the car. It looks better in terms of snow in all directions except the east, which is a good reflection of how winter has gone in these areas so far.

Snow quality

We still found very light powder on the north side. In all other exposures below 3000m there is already a melting harsch cover, above that a mixture of wind dunes and various types of harsch, which are not exactly easy on the knees.

Risks

Pretty safe. The LLB now gives a one or two for wet snow avalanches on a daily basis. The really large amounts of snow are no longer present on the sunny side, so the risk of wet snow avalanches can be limited quite well.

Overall impression

4 von 5 Sterne

Three days of perfect weather with safe conditions and good snow. There could have been a little more snow for the fifth star.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
