Resümee der letzten Tage im Unterwallis
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
The amount of snow is still very good. In my opinion, there was even more in the Sanetsch area than around Arolla. There were small amounts of fresh snow every day until Bi saufen today. Around Arolla there was about 10cm yesterday, but it was windblown.
Snow quality
Depending on the altitude, everything was there. Powder, hard snow, firn and salt. As it got very warm as the day progressed, the hard-packed snow quickly became easy to ski.
Risks
Wet snow chutes of considerable size everywhere, especially in south-facing and east-facing exposures. Many ridges with decent cornices, which occasionally fell off without any help below 2200 m.
Overall impression
Great touring conditions. The Sanetsch Pass, Col Collon and Cabane du Bertol were just some of the destinations that whetted our appetite for more.
