Overall impression
Snow condition
Great snow conditions, lots of snow above 1600m. No crevasses visible below the Pas de Chèvre, everything snowed over.
Snow quality
The fresh snow cover of the last two days changed from dry snow to wet, sticky cardboard snow over the course of the day, even up to 3200m. The spring sun has been working hard.
Risks
The wet snow slides are the biggest problem due to the heat. An early start was a must today.
Overall impression
Great tour from Arolla over the Pas de Chèvre to the Col de Cheillon. Many ambitious ski tourers at work, training for the patrol.
