Snow condition
Snow down to the valley floor is rather rare in the Rhone Valley, which makes it all the more positive. We were in Bruson on 14.12. and were able to ski down to Sembrancher. The 50cm of fresh snow in Bruson was already fine, but the 80cm in Aminona was even better. Above the tree line, all the ridges and crests are clear and there are large areas of snow.
Snow quality
After the snowfall on Friday, the snow line quickly rose to over 2000m in the Lower Valais. The washroom, some heavy rain on Saturday and temperatures above 0 degrees made the considerable amounts wet and heavy.
Risks
Considerable, some wet snow slides sighted in the afternoon. The heat is becoming a problem.
Overall impression
Shame it got so warm! Nevertheless, there were a few clean turns!
