Overall impression
Snow condition
Actually four stars for the amount up to today, considering that the last few years there was little to nothing here until New Year's Eve. But the rain played a nasty game today. The lush base gained another 35 cm overnight, but with the coming rain it was already very damp and heavy again in the morning.
Snow quality
Rain in the morning up to an altitude of 2100m, as predicted by the oracle. As a result, heavy, lumpy wet snow almost all the way up to 2360m.
Risks
There's nothing to be had off-piste at the moment, below 2100m we've already seen small wet snow slides close to the piste, above that it's windy. The loads are definitely problematic.
Overall impression
Quantitatively top, qualitatively flop today. There hasn't been this much snow in Valais since 2012. If it weren't for this warm spell.... :(
