Snow report Warth / Schröcken, 01/25/2015
Brilliant bluebird powder day. Nice weather for longer than expected and better conditions than expected. Very cold in the morning (-14° at the parking lot) and not much going on, so we warmed up on deserted, perfect slopes. From half past midnight it started to get slightly

Snow condition
It depended very much on the shape of the terrain. The ridges were almost blown off, the edges and ridges had very little snow. The gullies, hollows and "flat" slopes were well filled with up to 40cm of powder. Another 10cm had fallen overnight. In rocky terrain, a stone was picked up here and there, but otherwise it was pretty good. Where the base was rutted, you had to be a bit careful not to get snowed in. The three stars refer to gullies and hollows, otherwise more like 2.
Snow quality
Very good. As it stayed cold all day, the snow held up well everywhere. It got a bit heavier in the purely southern exposures, but was still dusty. Only in a small area (approx. south-east) there was a light cover. It seems to me that the snow was blown down into the valley, because the further up you got, at least on the Juppenspitze, the less fresh snow there was and you quickly got through to the hard crust from the rain.
Risks
Rather relaxed. In very steep terrain, we triggered 2.3 small loose snow slides that slid down on the old snow cover. However, this happened very slowly and only a few meters. On the approach via the Bregenzerwald, you could see a few cone-shaped slides on very steep slopes to the left of the road, but the sun was already beating down on them early in the morning. We didn't see any drifting snow because of the fresh snow, but it must not have been as susceptible to disturbance due to its age. Overall, we felt very safe.
Overall impression
The best day for me so far. Of course, there was a lot of track next to/between the slopes, but as soon as you crossed or climbed a few meters, you could ride first lines with face shots. There was also very little going on and the weather was great. A wonderful day!
