About 10 cm of fresh snow around Balderschwang. Below 1000m altitude it's getting scarce with enough base for skiing. Should be less of a problem tomorrow with more fresh snow than today. Overall, the snow conditions are quite solid for January. There have been years when everything was still green.
Snow quality
Somewhat heavier powder. But nice to ski. Unfortunately, even on the flat, you could still get through to the top. Even on the summit slope at 1700m. Sometimes bad ice on which you can slip when it gets steep. Therefore no 4 stars for the otherwise very nice looking powder snow
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Danger of falling on steep tours as fresh snow has little connection to old snow. Other dangers that are sometimes difficult to recognize: half-snowed-in fence posts, roots, flu viruses
Overall impression
Nice round via Balderschwang with a little less base and fresh snow as hoped but still good winter conditions. Now another half meter and then we can really get going!
