Variations of snow cover

Above 1200 m and 4 stars below, there is little basis and you can only reach the valley at 900 m with enemy contact. However, several ascents to the promising heights solve this problem quite satisfactorily.

Wind drifted snow

Almost perfect powder snow in wind-protected gullies and hollows. Ridge often covered with drift snow. On the south side, there was a huge dusting of cold temperatures and beautiful sunshine above the fog. In the afternoon, the wind picked up and covered some good runs with annoying drift snow. It's only on the surface, but it spoils the enjoyment of the ride. It's best to look for hollows that are sheltered from the wind and not too steep in the morning.

Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)

Due to north-westerly winds the day before yesterday and yesterday, there was quite a bit of drifting on the southern slopes near the ridge. You have to be careful here. There were cracks and small clods in the snow cover on hairpin bends in terrain of around 32 degrees. But you can recognize them well and usually avoid them. At midday, a strong south-easterly wind set in and blew in the northern slopes in particular. An ascent track on the ridge was completely filled within 15 minutes.

Worse

For the altitudes between 1400 and 1800m, I give it 5 stars today. Great weather and mostly bomb snow and a super crew and hardly anyone on the way...

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
