Snow report Western Allgäu foothills, 01/10/2026
Door-to-door tour
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Altitude
800 - 1200m
Avalanche warning level
moderate (2)
Exposition
Snow condition
Unevenly distributed due to the wind, but as the ground is frozen overnight, there is no contact with the ground apart from a few exposed crests. Nothing in the forest yet. Despite the wind, a bit of snow accumulated during the day.
Snow quality
Good in reasonably sheltered aisles, otherwise you have to be prepared for sudden changes in poor visibility.
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: strong
Above: 800 m
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
Flat foothills, so the underground is still the main danger here. Steeper and higher up, of course, things look different.
Overall impression
Comfortable and uncomfortable storm tour with start from and descent to the front door on the local mountain. First time this season, that makes the third star full. Let's see what we can do tomorrow.

Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
