Variations of snow cover

If you stay away from ridges, crests and contiguous forest, the snow conditions are good. The east side in particular is well filled. That's the place to be this week. But don't release the handbrake completely yet. Nothing really works in the forest up to 1800. On south-facing, very steep slopes you often hit the bottom. I did end up with a pretty deep scratch.

Wind drifted snow

Wind influence only noticeable in the ridge area, nice and fluffy in gullies, hollows etc. The last 10cm from Monday night fell without wind. Already a minimal cap on the south side in the afternoon.

The drift snow is covered by 10cm of powder almost everywhere. Today, too, there was a bit of drifting. I did a CT at 1700m above sea level. The fresh snow had already broken after the first blow, then the drift snow in 10cm layers. Jumpturns couldn't trigger anything. I then opted for the gullies up to just under 40° and nothing slipped. Nothing slid in the gullies used by others either. I couldn't see any fresh avalanches either.

Top day with fine powder in well-filled gullies. It will be worth it for the next few days too!

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
