Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Altitude
1000 - 1800m
Avalanche warning level
moderate (2)
Exposition
Snow condition
Exposed and S below 1200m it's getting scarce. Otherwise solid, approx. 50cm in the valley, 1m on the mountain, even more when blown in. Can be ridden with caution in the forest at higher altitudes.
Snow quality
Almost everything was there, but despite the high temperatures this week in the N-NE and the shade, there was still fast powder with a depth of around 5-10cm. The worst was on the descent of the Modetour NW, bad braking snow alternating with ice. Overall, however, better than expected, so just 3 stars.
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: medium
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Except for the avalanche (see below/above) nothing observed.
Avalanche activity
Dry slab avalanche (small)
Altitude: 1600 m
Overall impression
Due to the disagreement between LWD Vorarlberg/Tyrol, I didn't dare to try anything higher and steeper in the border area, but it was mostly good here too, even better than expected. Hopefully we'll get 20cm tomorrow, then Saturday will be good.
