The steep south-facing slopes are already starting to snow up after the period of little fresh snow. If you choose the right route, the route is still passable today, but with the current weather forecast, the rocky sections will quickly become more and bigger.

I'd prefer fresh snow, but there's nothing wrong with January firn in terms of riding. And you don't have to get up that early either...
