The foundation for the rest of the winter has been laid, and a good one at that! The forest areas are directly snowed in, only on hilltops and places exposed to the wind do you rarely see snow. I've never seen so much snow here! You certainly don't need the handbrake any more...

Yesterday 5 because it was a tick colder, today only an extremely good 4 due to the wind and slight warmth. It regularly shoots over my head and shoulders. Taking a breath in between needs to be strategically planned.that's how I imagine Japow, only in Salzburger Land!

Risks

The wind was already noticeable in the light upper forest area. We didn't dare to venture out over the forest and you probably shouldn't for the time being. With more fresh snow on top, a 5-pointer is very conceivable. On a small scale, we took a few smaller pockets behind crests. I'm sure it works just as well on a larger scale. Watch out! The fact that no one has cracked the kettle on the 2 chair by midday speaks volumes and, exceptionally, for the risk awareness of the hordes.

Yippieyayeah! At some point you have to give the 5. When, if not on a day that was sometimes almost too low? The only drawback was the wind, which made some connections too dangerous and trips outside too dangerous.

PS: the above refers to the forest area.
And: our detour through the Lammertal valley on the way home revealed enormous amounts of snow in the Tennengebirge mountains ;) the hype is real.
