35 cm fresh snow

Due to the below-average old snow cover, you also have to be careful with the fresh snow (which unfortunately turned out to be less than expected). The best areas were high, snow-covered, protected and still forested. The great pow also tempted you to step on the gas, but there were a few contacts. The summits are bad, large fields of mountain pines are completely free. Towards the bottom it also gets bad quickly.

Hard, pressed snow
Powder snow

Very nice, if you ignore the strongly wind-processed, exposed high altitudes. Super pow, becoming more compact towards the bottom. Where the sun has been shining since midday, there will be a cap tomorrow.

Risks

Much fresh snow
North North-West

Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)

Terrain traps due to the inadequate snow conditions in many areas were the main danger. In the highly structured areas where we were out and about, the fresh snow was unbound and fluffy. The 1 below the tree line fits. However, I would avoid steep high areas because of the wind.

Worse

Very nice half powder day. Unfortunately, the amount of fresh snow in the east fell short of expectations and forecasts. And the base here is also correspondingly poor for this winter. Poor visibility above the tree line and sometimes strong gusts. There was also quite a lot going on in the terrain, but with a bit of luck we still found some very good spots at lunchtime. Tomorrow everything will be completely tracked and capped on the sunny side.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
