Snow report Zauchensee, 12/05/2016
After spending the last few days in Obertauern, Schladming and Zauchensee, we decided to go to Flachau again today. Conclusion: Flachau definitely has the best pistes of all the resorts mentioned above.

Overall impression
Snow condition
Like everywhere else, the snow conditions here are poor. There is only over 1700m of snow in the terrain. But far too little to be able to ski off-piste, the descent is possible down to the valley and even in very good condition
Snow quality
Although 80% of the skiing here is also on artificial snow, the Bergbahnen Flachau have managed to make the artificial snow really grippy and not icy. Especially in the lower area, the quality can definitely be compared with a natural snow slope.
Risks
Avalanches will definitely not happen here until the next snowfall... However, you should be careful not to ski off the piste
Overall impression
Flachau is really good for piste skiing. However, it's worrying that I have to write a detailed report about the PIST conditions and the quality of the ARTIFICIAL SNOW at the beginning of December. We really need to get some snow slowly, otherwise Santa will bring me a racing spandex and bent poles instead of new touring skis
