Snow report Zauchensee, 12/29/2014
Today was actually pretty nice! Unexpectedly few people in total and, above all, unexpectedly few people in the terrain! There was a steady stream of face shots today, but stone contact is still unavoidable.

Snow condition
At the top it's between 30 and 90 cm, sometimes very heavily blown in. At the bottom about 30-50 cm. Roots and stone contact unavoidable! the overall snow situation is therefore actually really bad for this time of year!
Snow quality
The finest powder! 20 cm more overnight. A bit windy at the top but not too bad. In the forest without any wind influence.
Risks
in the open terrain the situation is quite tense, gullies and hollows are very heavily blown in! we triggered a small avalanche in the approx. 30 degree steep terrain at the forest boundary, crack approx. 15 cm, width approx. 3 m. Harmless but it should be a warning! drifts in all expos
Overall impression
All in all it was a really great day today! hopefully there will be more soon!
