Snow condition
The snow conditions are very manageable. The slopes are well covered with snow, but that's more or less it. off-piste you can make a few careful turns in the area of the tree line, but contact with the ground is to be expected at all times.
Snow quality
Partly powdery, but also a lot of blown snow at the top. Slopes hard and grippy.
Risks
Avalanches must be watched out for off-piste despite the low snow conditions, but ski tours or freeride activities are not worthwhile anyway due to the lack of snow.
Overall impression
In principle quite nice for skiing, not too busy and good slopes. Unfortunately, hardly any lifts open and very little snow for early January... The Zillertal, and especially the northern areas, are currently not worthwhile.
