Variant ski tour in the Zillertal Alps
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
The amount on the mountain is now acceptable. Unfortunately, the wind has blown some of it away. Descent into the valley is not possible and stone contact is not always unavoidable. Especially the strong wind has blown off north-west exposed slopes near the crest.
Snow quality
Blown in quite OK, but often already capped. In certain places there are only icy patches to be found. Rain, sun and wind have left little usable snow from the last snow areas. The best snow can still be found on slopes exposed to the south-east. But be careful: this is almost always drift snow -> avalanche danger!
Risks
According to the LLB 3, but also 4 in parts of Tyrol, a lot of activity in the last few days. We were also able to find many fallen snow slabs in almost all exposures (see photos). We also heard a massive settling noise during the ascent. The snow profile we dug (see photos) and the slide block showed that two layers can be triggered at this point at a depth of approx. 15cm and 35cm.
Overall impression
It's slowly getting better. However, with a lot of snow being transported and the associated poor snow and high avalanche risk, the possibilities were severely limited

Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
