Snow condition
Lots of snow down to the valley. Some exposed summits are blown away and icy. But it's not a problem because you can see it from a long way off. There is a good 150cm in the valley, around 30cm of which is new.
Snow quality
In the higher elevations, the wind has worked on it and there's a light crust pressed over it by the wind, but it's very good where the wind hasn't raged so much. It was relatively warm today, around 0 degrees. This was noticeable in the afternoon in the shady exposures.
Risks
The glacier road was closed today and there were a lot of sliding snow on the steep meadow slopes. A few self-timer shots in the rocky terrain and the strong north wind did the rest. Safety day was really smart today.
Overall impression
Super day at the K2 Alpin Camp except for the avalanche danger :(
