Snow condition
Ridges are blown away. Stones are also coming out on some of the upper slopes. All in all, however, the snow is really thick, especially when protected from the wind. Impressive amounts of snow in the forest, on the roofs and up the road, which is closed until Wednesday. Where there are usually stumps en masse, there is now pillowland.
Snow quality
In the forest, sometimes also at the top on the shaded side and protected from the wind, very nice to ski, only slightly set powder (4 stars).on free slopes of all expos, sun or wind or both have worked well. Very variable here (2 stars).
Risks
Significant settling noticeable. On Wednesday there were slight plus degrees, yesterday just below 0. This has eased the situation overall (see LWD). Where the wind was on the way, it was not without. But the danger spots here are quite recognizable. Lots and lots of sliding snow in all expos and also up to 2400. I've never seen such big cracks in the Metzen Face. There were only 2 tracks from 2 days. Watch out here, many are also slightly snowed in!
Overall impression
Nice day in the area and nearby, even without the really long excursions. The best turns were actually still to be had in the area. Hardly any people, sunshine - just a shame that the snow quality before the dry phase is no longer the best. But you can start touring soon :)
