Snow report Zillertal, 02/01/2014
After the world had practically come to an end in East Tyrol because of all the snow, and it had rained in the Ötztal up to almost 2000m, we decided to take the middle route and ended up in Hochfügen

Snow condition
The snow conditions are ok but nothing special. There has definitely been a little fresh snow in the last few days. It also snowed today, but that was only a small beauty correction, as it was a maximum of 5-10 cm.
Snow quality
Good fluffy snow everywhere from about 1800m. Underneath, the snow was relatively heavy and the base was very damp. I suspect that it rained here at the beginning too.
Risks
According to the LLB warning level 3, I could not observe any releases. But I wasn't out and about in the terrain today either and you could hardly see anything anywhere at 1800m with visibility of around 5 meters anyway. Underneath, however, the snow cover made a very solid and stable impression.
Overall impression
Well, it was definitely worth a try. With good visibility it would certainly have been possible, but not the best. At least the area was pretty empty.
