Hochfügen - Heavy powder, many avalanches
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Quite good in the meantime. Around 30cm of fresh snow has been added in the last few days. Now there is at least a good foundation. However, contact with the ground still occurs from time to time. However, the wind has shifted the snow quite a bit, especially above the tree line. If it doesn't all melt away again in the next few days, it could be really good the next time it snows. That's why I give it a 3.
Snow quality
In the morning, the snow was still reasonably okay, but even here you could tell that it was no longer the fluffiest. By around 11 a.m., however, it was already pretty soggy.
Risks
According to the LLB warning level 3 above 2100m, below 2. The LLB is pretty accurate: drifting snow and the well-known old snow problem. The warm temperatures added to this. We were able to observe a few avalanches today. Around noon, an avalanche was triggered on the flank of the Metzen / Gilfert.
Overall impression
Quite a nice day! A bit of powder in the morning, even though the snow was already quite heavy.
