Snow condition
Everything is covered in thick snow, even some large rocks are completely gone. Apart from the blown-off ridges, hardly any contact with the enemy is possible.
Snow quality
The 30 cm of fresh snow, sometimes as much as 40 cm, was usually pretty fluffy, sometimes a bit settled in the worst cases. In any case, full-throttle quality. As chevchelios has already written, the sun came a little later and with breaks. So even the south-eastern slopes on the small Gilfert were without any noticeable sunshine until 13:00. After that we were only on the north side (there was a lot of dust until the end anyway), but it remained cold. So it should be usable again tomorrow. The 5th is only not available because of the limited number of faceshots (what a winter :)).
Risks
We went to all expos except south-northwest - and only that looked less nice. Everything else felt really uncritical for us locally. Hardly any bindings even in the afternoon, not even the sun could change much today. As a result, people quickly became braver and metzen and co. were well prepared. Watch out for sliding snow mouths. On the sunny side, some of them were covered in snow.
Overall impression
One of the very good days. With a few hours of sunshine, many a new line for us and dusty full-throttle snow right up to the end, there's really very little to complain about today - although there was a lot going on.
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
