Snow condition
From Tuesday to Wednesday there was a good 20 cm of fresh snow in the Zillertal. Unfortunately, the snow conditions here were also below average, which meant that contact with the ground had to be expected time and again.
Snow quality
In the morning it was still quite loose and fluffy up to around 1800m in areas protected from the wind. However, the temperatures rose towards midday and the snow became heavier. At 2000m it was blowing quite hard so that you could see quite a bit of drifting and the snow cover was quite compacted.
Risks
According to the local LLB, there was a 3rd snow layer and you could see some small snow slabs, but mostly only in the steep terrain. However, I had a good impression of the snowpack all day. The wind was the biggest problem and moved a lot of snow, hollows were pretty much filled!!!
Overall impression
Finally some fresh snow again and got out the wide slats. Even though we had to ride with the handbrake on, the day was pretty good
